In an attempt to ward off potential cyber attacks on the Torn City Oil Companies Pipelines process controls software and programming - Torn City has developed state of the art software to monitor and respond to attacks to keep their software and infrastructure safe.
In an attack by viruses, worms or other forms of cyber war on the Torn City oil and gas industry process control networks and related systems could destabilize the entire Torn City energy industry supply capabilities and negatively impact the Torn City economy.
Torn City staff brought together a multi Oil Company team to identify ways to reduce cyber vulnerabilities in process control and SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems. The goal of the project was to identify new types of security sensors for process control networks.

Experts report the experts study finds that Torn City is vulnerable and Torn City Oil Companies and Pipelines rely on Torn City Networks both internally and externally accessible computer networks which are unprotected,. The networks are used for Oil Pipeline and Oil Company electric power,Torn City telephone service, Torn City banking, Trading and Torn City Army military command and control, as the foundation for their military and economic power and are subject and vulnerable to cyber attack right now.

A short announcement by Chedburn[1] in which he announced some downtime on Tuesday the 13th, to prepare for the upcoming updates, has resparked speculations about the new changes to Torn. Some people think it will be the return of pets. Others believe the new items which appeared (such as the firehydrant) will be a hint of things to come. Yet another believes it has something to do with the oil rig hack. No staff was found available to comment upon the upcoming changes to Torn.com.

Are we at war? , Torn City Operations is in the middle of finding out ! Just what does it mean for Torn City to fight a covert cyberwar while protecting its customers Oil Companies at Torn City? "Strange things are happening in the programming and system at Torn City.", the Head of Torn City Operations stated ," the system just hung then disappeared only for a few seconds, there was no backup, no warning, scratchng my head, have no idea...seemed like a test was being conducted, then suddenly everything was normal again ..." Has the global TornCity cyberwar already commenced? "All the Oil refinery pipelines for ALL the Oil companies on Torn City, just stopped working....stopping the flow of oil...and STOPPING ALL CASH FLOW for ALL owners of Torn City Oil Companies...this only lasted a few seconds, most owners will not even notice the drop in cash flow...", said the Torn City Security Officer. ....the Torn City Operations and Security officers further cautioned: "Is Torn City at War, actually I have no idea...things are complicated in cyberspace and a cyberwar at Torn City,... that would be a catastrophe."
