"The secret Torn City interrogations have yielded results, including identification of Torn City vulnerabilities," stated an expert source on condition of anonymity at Torn City.

Interrogations revealed, "Torn City's sensitive networks are probed and attacked daily, and it’s not always clear who is launching these assaults. Torn City's network was hacked into in 2005, 2006 ,2007, 2008 and 2009, resulting in the theft of data that would be valuable to adversaries," said the interrogation subject. "...spoofed emails containing recognizable names were sent to Torn City employees. When they opened the messages, user IDs and passwords that unlocked the entire network were stolen. Sensitive data was then accessed, copied and sent back to the intruder."

"There are about 100,000+ malicious access attempts against the Torn City network each day, "stated an anonymous source.
Torn City is now figuring out what is already a constant threat for vital networks "We don’t know who our attackers are or how to respond to them."said the anonymous interrogation subject

Torn City's critical power grids, are vulnerable to introducing a variety of malicious programming that wreaks havoc with the grid’s computer system. The system potentially then crashes and the juice stops flowing. Everything from water to food, finance, oil and natural gas soon becomes scarce. The Torn City economy buckles and life at Torn City becomes impossible.

Interrogations revealed the details of the weaknesses of Torn City's Oil Companies, Oil Pipelines, Torn City Banking, property finance to the systems that run critical infrastructure, everything is done through the vast series of interconnected computer networks that comprise Torn City cyberspace. As a result of the interrogation information, experts are calling for a more robust defense of critical Torn City and corporate computer networks. But even as Torn City administration rolls out initiatives to improve cyber security, questions remain about what the roles should be. Many Torn City oil pipelines controls, power plant networks and other essential pieces of infrastructure are owned, operated and protected by corporations at Torn City.
Some say security of these vital networks should be the sole domain of Torn City because of it's security concern. Critics say Torn City monitoring of Internet usage even for malicious programming is a start toward "Big Brother" style surveillance, and Torn City private industry can better secure their own networks. "It’s a question of freedom versus security, what about our civil rights and laws at Torn City." said an industry expert. Torn City's new emphasis on cyber security is hidden from view and it is unclear how far Torn City’s authority extends without the need to monitor the Internet or mandate security standards to the Torn City private sector including who has the authority to shut down certain private networks in the event of a big attack.

There was also some positive results from the interrogations...

The interrogation subject was a supporter of a more robust Torn City presence in cybersecurity with stronger security and privacy that is maintained in a surveillance program. Torn City technology such as deep packet inspection programs can already scan Internet traffic for signs of malicious programming without actually reading the content , correspondence and other data. No laws at Torn City currently exists to protect the cyber network of a privately operated power plant or other critical infrastructure, Torn City and many big businesses are reluctant to invest in such costly cyberdefense systems over the long term. But any Torn City ove to provide that protection via surveillance could provoke a public protest.

"...if people were to hack into Torn City's power grid and take the power grid down, and people woke up one morning and there was no electricity or water or natural gas, there would be an outcry," the interrogation subject said. "Instead of intruding on private systems, Torn City should offer incentives to help companies purchase security upgrades and staff, while investing in new research and sharing information.as they know their own systems best", stated the anonymous source

Questioned if the Torn City Youth Recruitment effort would make a difference, the interrogation subject answered, "...totally worthless."
